That Time of Year

I Can't believe another week has passed and I am just now making a post. Just finished my taxes for this year an hour ago. Yay for me! Have been getting better from having picked up some bug that had me sick before and after the Spring bear show. Still have a cough left.
Hope you all have fared better. Going to take my first yoga class in two weeks, today. Hope I don't beat myself up too badly. You know how it is, you think you have your strength back until you try to use it.
Then i have to get back to work on orders and new pieces so stay tuned for new pictures from the workshop. I'll be back here soon!

Spring Show Timonium

Ok Saturday is my next show and I hope to see you there. Have been battling a bug and the bug was winning, wouldn't let me work. Only got two pieces made since last weekends show.
I'll get packed up tonight and be ready for an early morning flight.

One of the pieces that will be traveling with me.

One of the pieces I finished. About 10 to 11 inches tall. Wears a too short antique doll dress. Made of mohair and excelsior and polyfil stuffing. See her at the show.

Tropical Doll club Study2010 Review

First happy St. Patricks Day to all! Doesn't that rose petal look like a face?! It's from my rose bush at home.
The show had good traffic, lots of peole in all day. Berdine Creedy, doll artist and Caroline Jackobson, bear artist were among the participants.
And just so you know to wait for what you want let me tell you how prices can differ. Last year at Renningers I found bottle brush trees for a dollar apiece. One here was forty- five dollars.
This little buggy was fifteen dollars from Carolyn.

Another dealer had one exactly the same but it had been painted over and it was forty-five dollars. So just be sure to have an idea what things are worth so you'll know if you're getting a bargain or just getting taken.and if you really want it, what you pay is your business:0)
There was great food, oh the bar-b-que sandwiches and cheesecake! The promoters did a really great job. I would do the show again.

Show and where's spring?

The Tropical Doll Club's doll and bear show is tomorrow in Lakeland, Fl. And I have been getting ready for it. But I took the time to actually look at my yard at some of the damage the freezes had done.

This won't be growing back. Bit there were signs the freeze actually helped some plants.

This is my husbands nectarine tree that usually blooms a teeny bit then falls off no fruit in sight. Now it's full of blooms so he may have a shot at fruit. And look at my meyer lemon tree, it does the same thing and it too is full of blooms.

Wish us luck on seeing real fruit this year and hope we all see spring soon!
I'll let you know how the show went.

Where have you Been?

How did March get here so quickly? I had an order to get out for a store and have been diligently working on it. Got it done Saturday and boxed it and forgot to get pictures of the pieces, duh!

So today I got to see Tim Burtons Alice inWonderland! In 3d! No I won't spoil it for you but it does make me want to be even more creative to bring people a sense of wonderment. There is joy in that.
In light of all that is going on being able to give someone the gift of making them smile is a wonder.
